| Q. What's a good way to
start? A. Posters can be made with
standard shells, or custom shells. Try out some of our standard
shells. You will see that you simply make choices for certain
variable information (e.g., choice of logos and text). The standard
shells might be adequate for your needs. More likely, you will want
to send us information for your custom shells.
Q. Will other customers also be
able to use my custom shells?
A. No. We develop them just
for your use. That said, however, there are some poster designs
which are fairly generic. Unless your posters are quite unusual, it
is possible that someone else may request a design which is similar to
yours. If you have unusual intellectual property needs, please
discuss them with us.
Q. I want to have my designer design
a poster, and simply upload the images. Can you print posters that
way also?
A. Yes. However, consider
this: For text and line art to look their best, posters should be
prepared and printed at 300 PPI. For a 22 x 28 poster, that's 166
Megabytes uncompressed, and typically 10-50 megabytes compressed.
That will take a while to upload. Using our standard and custom
shells, the total amount of information to be exchanged, from start to
finish, for a given poster may be less than 50K bytes. The upload
and download times are miniscule by comparison. Once you are
familiar with our shells, you can probably prepare a 22 x 28 poster in a
few minutes. Your time is valuable. We can save you both time
and money.
Q. Is all shell setup free?
A. For most customers it is.
However, if your poster is unusually complex, and/or if you plan on
ordering only a few of a given poster type, then there may be a setup
charge.
Q. How do we pay you?
A. You can choose to pay for posters
by credit card, or by invoice. Most customers prefer to be sent an
invoice.
